Update (July 4): You can now potentially find one of four VIP passes to this event within this year's Blowout MegaMix boxes.

The National's first side event this year has been revealed -- and it's coming via Onyx Authenticated.

On the Thursday night of the show (July 29), the company and its VIP ticket holders will take over the Dave & Busters in Rosemont, Ill., for a three-hour Onyx Authenticated VIP Party with guests including baseball Hall of Famers Randy Johnson and Fergie Jenkins as well as NFL stars Frank Gore and Chad Johnson.

The Item: Willie Mays 2021 Topps Sterling Bat Knob Relics (1/1)
The Price: $17,999.99 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This huge pull is an example of the possibilities in this new high-end arrival from Topps, though I'm not sure it will get that much. (But the best offer feature is there for a reason.) The number of full Mays bats out there is perhaps not what it used to be -- at least for those available on the auction block -- but they're probably not going quite that high for the full item ... but anything seems possible these days. Sterling boxes aren't cheap but they include big stuff every time and this one is among the bigger possible finds with bat barrels, jersey letters and more possible. Buzz buys and busts a lot of boxes right here for Buzz Breaks, but one of my goals is to rip a little less and talk more about cardboard that I -- and you -- might like. One way to do that? Simple show and tell -- present a few pick-ups and say why they captured my attention.

So, with all that said, here are a few Buzz Buys.

OFF-SEASON GRAB
The Card: Calvin Ridley 2018 Donruss Optic Aqua (/299) -- Rookie Card parallel
The Price: $2.25
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This card is a perfect example of an off-season pick-up that can show you some volatility and gains when in-season. The price above is a "then" price. The asking price now where I grabbed it? Basically add a zero and then a few bucks. Now, I'm not sure it'll sell for that much right now, but that's the kind of stuff that can easily happen when a player has a hot start to a season and is among the league leaders. Ridley had at least 109 yards in all but one game (that one a big fat zero) and he's a go-to for his struggling team right now. His auto isn't much to look at so I don't grab them as often, but I don't mind his RCs and memorabilia cards when I can land them cheaply.
