The Item: Willie Mays 2021 Topps Sterling Bat Knob Relics (1/1)
The Price: $17,999.99 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This huge pull is an example of the possibilities in this new high-end arrival from Topps, though I'm not sure it will get that much. (But the best offer feature is there for a reason.) The number of full Mays bats out there is perhaps not what it used to be -- at least for those available on the auction block -- but they're probably not going quite that high for the full item ... but anything seems possible these days. Sterling boxes aren't cheap but they include big stuff every time and this one is among the bigger possible finds with bat barrels, jersey letters and more possible. Check out the link below and grab your box after that if it's a brand for you.

LATE-SEASON MAGIC
The Item: Tua Tagovailoa 2020 Panini Chronicles Score Rookie Red Zone Autographs (/20)
The Price: $989.99 Buy-It-Now 
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This is a big card -- on Optichome stock -- from a new arrival on the hobby side recently and it's a sample of a number of fun and expensive cards that can be found in the season catch-all NFL release that combines several brand names into one. It's been a long time since I found new NFL out in the retail wild (the 5 a.m. campers win) -- so much so I thought this was from the release giving us a new go at 2021 draft picks in their school colors. (That's still to come.) Nope, it's the release giving us another crack at the strong rookie crop that was ... in new NFL gear images with a little less Photoshop than during the season. It seems like it wasn't that long ago I was ripping into Chronicles Draft Picks boxes for these same guys ... but the NFL version is perhaps in a little stronger demand from more collectors. I've been a big fan of Chronicles for pretty much all sports and formats for a couple years now ... it's worth the look.

CHECK HIS STATS ...
The Item: Akil Baddoo 2018 Bowman Chrome Blue Prospect Autograph (/150)
The Price: $149.95 Buy-It-Now 
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: I didn't do a price check here to see how they have been selling or whether others out there right now are higher or lower ... but I did look at Baddoo's stat line this spring for the Detroit Tigers -- he's hitting .357 (10-for-28) with four homers and nine RBI in 15 games along with 11 runs and eight walks. Throw in two stolen bases and only nine strikeouts and that's one of the more-interesting spring showings right now ... from a guy who's likely nowhere near the radar of many or perhaps even sitting in some of your old ripped boxes. This 22-year-old former second-round pick has hit only .249 in four past MiLB seasons with one of his better years (2018) being one that had 11 homers ... but 124 strikeouts in 113 games. (Yikes.) It seems like there's some big improvement here, though he's not played above advanced-A ball. He could be a from-out-of-nowhere kind of player if he sticks with the Tigers and that appears to be a possibility. I wouldn't over-pay for his cards but he's worth watching ... remember Randy Arozarena last year? Basically half of Baddoo's cards are certified autos since his cardboard arrival in 2017 and he's found with ink in this one as well as 2018 Elite Extra Edition and Panini Contenders and then 2019 Bowman Sterling. That's it.
