The legend of "Shoeless Joe" lives on.

A PSA 8 copy of Joe Jackson's 1909 E90-1 American Caramel card rocked the auction block on Sunday morning and, along with one other high-grade icon from the past topped a combined $1.1 million in an SCP Auctions sale.

The Jackson sold for $667,189 and is one of only two cards to receive that grade and none are higher.

”We are thrilled with the results of our biggest summer auction to date," said SCP Auctions Vice President Dan Imler. "The market for 'best of the best' sports cards and historic memorabilia continues to show incredible strength.”

He's in his eighth season as a big-leaguer but Justin Turner has finally become a bit of an animal at the plate with a career-high 23 homers and 72 RBI (so far) this season for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

He's been a mainstay at third base for the team the last couple of seasons and with his emerging presence he's attracted some fans -- or do we call them promotional buddies? -- along the way, which probably has helped get him on the radar of a few more.

There's one problem, though. When it comes to cardboard, he's a bit of a rare breed -- and that's translated into some cash for some collectors who have found and sold.

Los Angeles Dodgers rookie Corey Seager's hot streak started Friday night and continued again on Sunday with his weekend tally including five homers in three games.

Not bad for a guy who was waiting (and waiting) for the call a year ago.

But Seager's domination at the plate got Buzz wondering which way collectors are leaning on Seager ink. He's pretty much a given to appear in forthcoming brands this year -- so there are plenty more autos to come with an RC logo attached (including Tier One this week) -- but he's already got a rich autograph history. Is it a Rookie Card? Is it not a a Rookie Card?

It's got the logo and that's the only card that can say that so far for Julio Urias.

The highly touted Los Angeles Dodgers pitching prospect made his major league debut on Friday night in New York and things didn't go as planned as he gave up three runs on five hits and walked four in just 2 2/3 innings, a no-decision against against the defending NL champion Mets.

Despite this rough start, Urias was tabbed for a Topps Now card as part of the company's daily real-time baseball card program and, for now, it's also his rarest Rookie Card (it's got that logo and he's a rookie) with just 2,992 copies made. The quantity was revealed by Topps today.

It's go time for Julio Urias.

The highly touted Los Angeles Dodgers pitching prospect will make his major league debut on Friday night in New York against the defending National League champion Mets. He'll be the youngest starter in MLB since Felix Hernandez back in 2005.

The 19-year-old from Mexico was 4-1 with an 1.10 ERA and 44 strikeouts in 41 innings this season for Triple-A Oklahoma City. Baseball America ranked him fourth overall on its 2016 Top 100 list -- the best pitcher of the bunch. He's actually in his fourth season as a pro after signing with the Dodgers as an international free agent in 2013.

The 2016 Bowman Chrome Kenta Maeda Superfractor auto has been pulled from a pack of 2016 Bowman and made its way to eBay on Sunday.

It's listed by eBay user tcbuilt28 in Seattle, Wash., with a Buy It Now price of $14,999 -- along with a $2.75 shipping fee. (Update: It reportedly sold for $7,000.)

Topps' new program creating real baseball cards in real time documenting the highlights of the here and now have caught on with some collectors as this season has begun with some historic starts and impressive debuts for MLB rookies.

It's 2016 Topps Now and the cards are only available for a 24-hour window. After that, the population reports are released and the next day's cards are unveiled -- all in made-to-order, real-time fashion.

He's already joined the Topps Authentics team as one of the top players on the radar of the company's memorabilia division, but a hot start this spring just might have him on the radar of more collectors soon.

He's Hector Olivera, and he's hit .438 (14-for-32) with just a single strikeout in 11 games this spring for the Atlanta Braves, where he's likely to be in left field on Opening Day.

"We've seen him juice some balls, but we don't know if this guy is going to be a nine-home-run guy or a 15-18 home run guy. We might not know that until later this year," said Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "He doesn’t take things for granted. There’s nobody that works harder than him. He’s here early, he works, and as coaches, that’s what you want to see and what he gives us."

That signer is Los Angeles Dodgers rookie pitcher Kenta Maeda, who signed with the team after a successful career in Japan and made his spring debut this past weekend.

More than 20 years after his death, the memorabilia of Hall of Famer and Los Angeles Dodgers pitching great Don Drysdale is coming to auction.

The sale will be handled by Laguna Niguel, Calif.-based SCP Auctions and will open on April 6 with more than 1,000 lots as part of the overall event.
