Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This is a perfect example of some of the big stuff coming out of boxes of this brand this year. Playbook is a line where you typically get some kind of booklet in every box -- one per this year -- and I can say I've window-shopped this one hard through the years. (I've never been focused enough on any one player to commit and chase something like this, though.) Once the initial flood of cards like this hits eBay they will get a lot tougher to find for a lot of guys -- maybe not the biggest names with the biggest dollar signs -- and that's why watching what arrives right now can be important. It arrived after the World Series this year, but it's just getting warmed up.

One of the hottest yet more affordable boxes in the hobby right now, 2020 Topps Baseball UK Edition, is a release that is a far smaller set than any of the series it follows this year -- it's just 200 cards. But it's got parallels and other inclusions that seem to be out-pacing cardboard norms since, well, it's just not as plentiful as the regular stuff.

Each 24-pack box includes a total of 240 cards so you might even have shots at more than one copy of those key rookies in there ... and despite that they (and moreso their parallels) are selling well.

LIFE AFTER TUA 
The Item: Bryce Young 2020 Leaf Metal All-American patch auto (/12)
The Price: $695 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: The Alabama Crimson Tide's season began this weekend and the freshman QB that has plenty of expectations in a world after Tua Tagovailoa got some playing time as part of a big win. He's not the starter and didn't light things up in his first taste of the field that counts, but that doesn't matter when it comes to the demand for his cardboard in this prep All-American set. He appears on more than 60 different cards in the release with many of them low-volume creations and he's easily among the priciest cards of players in the set so far (hit that link below). The release is largely a hits-driven affair so the box prices are pretty strong and there is risk with a deep, deep checklist but notables like this guy are big deals when you find them. This is pretty much the only way to prospect football until players' NFL cards arrive so once players are bonafide big names in college there is only one place to look ... these cards.

Are you struggling with the card economy right now? If so, you're probably not alone but things should (hopefully) get closer to "normal" in the coming months or next year.

That key piece of everything -- supply and demand -- is a big part of pretty much everybody's collecting existence right now whether they are a collector, a flipper or a dealer. Finding boxes is a challenge. Affording boxes? Probably a challenge for many, too. Demand for seemingly everything new in wax form is partly elevated due to hot new players like Zion Williamson, Luis Robert and Joe Burrow and then young veterans such as Patrick Mahomes, Luka Doncic and Ronald Acuña Jr. Old guys like LeBron James, Tom Brady and even Michael Jordan have had their moments this year in different ways, too, with all of their successes and then their card sales drawing attention. Also fueling things are returning collectors, new collectors, bot-buyers scooping up plenty of stuff and holding it all, and, of course, all of this is exacerbated by the coronavirus putting a dent in manufacturers' ability to flat-out make more cardboard for a few reasons.
