StockX's venture into graded trading cards has a new element as of right now.

It's the first trading card IPO on the platform -- 2019 Bowman Chrome X baseball cards -- and boxes of this limited release are live. There are five-box cases already active, too.

There is no suggested retail price for this initial product offering. Instead, the market lets the bidders set the price for these boxes after they sign up for a StockX account.

Each and every box of 2019 Bowman Chrome X new from Topps contains a PSA 9 or PSA 10 Green X-Fractor rookie or prospect card inside -- and each of them is serial-numbered to just 31 copies from a lineup of just 100 players selected to appear in this release.

There's a new player in the sports card landscape that you might already know pretty well depending on your taste in shoes.

StockX, a Detroit-based company founded in 2015, has perhaps been best known for helping collectors of in-demand basketball shoes like the Air Jordan 6 Travis Scott model you see here by being a platform for users to make and take offers in a few select categories.

But beginning this month there's a new addition to the company's lineup -- graded sports cards.

"Staying true to our mantra as the world’s first 'Stock Market of Things,' we are excited to announce trading cards as a brand new category for StockX," read a company statement. "We have been researching the trading-card space for a long time, and believe that our stock-market model will provide collectors and enthusiasts alike a superior e-commerce experience."

One of Major League Baseball's young stars is in the World Series -- and hitting .571 through two games -- and that means there should be even more people watching him and potentially thinking about buying some his baseball cards.

Where do you start when it comes to Washington Nationals outfielder Juan Soto? Well, that's what we're here for and it's not that simple -- though it is a tad simpler than when we revisited Ronald Acuña Jr.'s Rookie Cards earlier this year. The 21-year-old (as of tomorrow, the day of Game 3) appears on nearly 2,200 different baseball cards despite just arriving on cardboard in 2016 and on Rookie Cards last year -- in fact he appeared on basically 700 different cards in 2018 alone -- so that's where we'll start with the simple stuff, his RCs.

He's got around 20 Rookie Cards based on traditional definitions and set builds, but for simplicity we've punted anything that's got an autograph or memorabilia swatch as part of the package. We're looking at the simplest of those -- 15 cards of varying values and ease of finding. Some are challenges, some are not -- but now's the time to be paying more attention than ever to them.

Why it’s Buzz-worthy: What do you collect when a star has bounced around and arrives in a new home, scoring 30 points in his new team debut against their rival? Well, I don't know as I'm firmly priced out on the big cards in basketball these (but I do have a clean NBA Hoops RC headed into a slab soon and I'll dig that) but my gut says that his hottest cards soon will be his first Clippers cards more than his Raptors or Spurs stuff. But, with that not here yet, the best bets would be to bargain hunt among the rookie patch autos from his rookie season like this one. There could be cheaper ones for sure, but there are also a ton of pricier ones with National Treasures cards in slabs going into five-figures. There's no doubt that Leonard is a talent and here's hoping the past weirdness settles down and he's a Clipper for some time with success ... that would justify the big-money prices for his cards and justify even more gains for sure. He's already got championships with two teams and there are expectations for more. Game 1 against LeBron and his Lakers seemed to start off on a big note, which might fuel expectations and interest here even more if his team continues playing as it did last night.
