Not all game-used items are obviously documentable in this age of super-HD cameras, super-slo-mo replays and non-stop viral replay potential.
While that's tough for some to understand -- something just as perplexing as the idea that not every single little thing at a game can be authenticated and stickered -- it's also not that tough as some types of items are anonymous in their roles before our eyes. While this Collecting Game-used series has stuck with basics like caps, balls, bases and pucks in the past, this month's piece isn't one where I can definitively photo-match it to in-game action. However, it is authenticated as close as possible as it can be -- it's legit and it was a pick-up from the last days of Steiner Sports, which will be no more next month after that company was purchased by Fanatics.

GONE FISHING ... CAUGHT THE BIG ONE
The Item: Mike Trout 2018 Topps Transcendent Collection Emerald autograph (/15)
The Price: $599 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This guy is one of the big names found in not one but two 2018 Transcendent Collection releases from Topps last year and he's the star of the VIP party that high-rollers will attend this year, too. While everything is low-volume in this ultra-high-end brand, there are a few guys who can be found more than others -- Trout, Shohei Ohtani and Ichiro Suzuki for sure as Trout is the main star in the standard version's extra inclusions, while the two Japanese stars are the only players found in the Asian edition.

There once was a time where Derrick Rose was among the elite in the hobby, a potential future icon once the older names hung them up.
Today, he's headed to New York to become a member of the seemingly always under-achieving Knicks. What might his future in the hobby hold? Well, it probably depends on what that team looks like ... but we want your thoughts.

Steiner Sports has landed the biggest rookie in New York these days for an exclusive autograph deal.
The rookie is Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis.
"It quickly became apparent that Kristaps is on to something special in New York," said Steiner Sports CEO Brandon Steiner in an announcement on Thursday. "He is mature beyond his years and a true talent on the court. Steiner Sports has held a valued memorabilia partnership with Madison Square Garden since 2010 and we are looking forward to seeing Kristaps' growth at The World's Most Famous Arena as a member of the Steiner Sports family."

He might be the biggest thing going in The Big Apple right now -- and that makes him a big deal on cardboard.
His name is Kristaps Porzingis and he's playing so well for the New York Knicks right now that the team's marquee player, Carmelo Anthony, has already dubbed him the future of the franchise.
“He’s going to lead this organization long after I’m retired,” Anthony said in an SI.com story today. “Hopefully we can hoist one or two [championship trophies] before that happens.”
