Panini America's NBA team has a new player.

Damian Lillard signed a multi-year exclusive deal for autographed trading cards and memorabilia with the company and it was revealed on Monday.

"Damian is absolutely one of the most popular and exciting players in the NBA today and his star is on the rise," said Panini America CEO Mark Warsop. “He’s a bona fide superstar and a perfect fit to join the exclusive fraternity of Panini Authentic exclusive athletes. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching him blossom since entering the NBA. Now we get the opportunity to work closely with him to the benefit of his countless fans and collectors."

Lillard's first signed cards will appear in 2016-17 National Treasures, which arrives this week, and autographed memorabilia can be had via alongside other exclusives Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, John Wall and Blake Griffin.

With 10 homers last month, New York Yankees rookie outfielder Aaron Judge tied the major-league record for newcomers -- a mark set by Trevor Story of the Colorado Rockies last year.

Judge and Story are different stories when it comes to baseball cards, though, as the Yankee is readily available -- and has been for years -- on MLB cardboard and has plenty of autographs and Rookie Cards with more on the way. (Yes, Story also had ink and prospect cards -- about 40 autos -- before his arrival last season, but he wasn't a big-market, can't-miss guy who took his time to arrive with his presence in most prospect products before that time came. That's Judge.)

Sure, it's a long season, but right now Judge is a runaway to win the American League Rookie of the Year award with his homer total doubling the next-closest rookie and his 20 RBI in 22 games also leading all newcomers. He's also hitting .303 so far, which ain't shabby as he was a career .278 hitter in the minors. And, again, collectors (and dealers) benefit from this start as he's got plenty of cards -- new and old.

Three legendary cards in 2016 Panini National Treasures have a mistake -- and Panini America will fix them for a collector who finds one.

One is a NFL Gear Quads Laundry Tag of four legendary quarterbacks -- Peyton Manning, Dan Marino, Tom Brady and John Elway. The mistake occurred during production as the card's labeling should indicate that some of the players' tags are from player-used and not game-worn jerseys.

"We are disappointed the error occurred, but it was truly an honest mistake with no intention of trying to mislead our customers," reads a statement from the company. "All other parallel levels of these cards do contain game-worn material, and this mistake occurred because the laundry tag reservations from the player-worn jerseys were missed when routing the cards for approval. Obviously, this is something that we will be more diligent about in the future."

Dale Earnhardt Jr. -- NASCAR's most-popular driver -- will be retiring after this season ends.

The 42-year-old shared his plans with his team today and a news conference is set for this afternoon to talk about his decision after 18 seasons as a driver at NASCAR's highest level and more than 600 races.

The move shouldn't come as a big surprise as he was sidelined with concussion issues for much of last season but that didn't stop him from winning NASCAR's most-popular driver award voting for the 14th straight year -- the record for total wins is 16.

Happy Days star Erin Moran -- aka Joanie Cunningham -- died on Saturday leaving behind plenty of questions as part of a mysterious tale of what went wrong in her years away from Hollywood. She was 56.

Unlike many TV stars from the past, she signed plenty of autographs for card companies that collectors can find perhaps more easily in than some of her regular cardboard and it all came in the last decade of cardboard that saw a boom in non-sports releases.

Current collecting projects: I used to work on rainbow projects often, and I have completed 14 of them. They have become too time-consuming so I now mainly concentrate on obtaining Ichiro, Cano and certain 1/1 cards. There is one Ichiro rainbow I will never stop trying for though and it’s from my favorite set, 2012 Topps Chrome. All I am missing is the Superfractor that sold years ago and I assume its in a PC collection forever. But if anyone knows who has it, please let me know.
