Guess we can cross this cardboard off the possibilities list if Super Bowl 50 is, indeed, Peyton Manning's last rodeo. 

Buzz really was hoping for there to somehow be a Peyton Omaha rodeo card in the future. (Yep, there were Professional Bull Rider cards made back in 2009 -- autographs, memorabilia and everything.)

The real point here? It's OK to have some fun with collecting.

Way back in 1999, Elton Brand was a star center for the Duke Blue Devils -- a center from tiny Peekskill, N.Y., who was about to make a big impression as the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA Draft.

Fast-forward to today and the former Chicago Bull is coming out of retirement to join the NBA's worst team -- the Philadelphia 76ers, owners of a 3-33 record -- to help mentor another former Blue Devils star and first-round pick, Jahlil Okafor. Okafor, of course, has had issues off the court this season while also picking up the NBA game quickly. It's a match made in Blue Devils collecting heaven.

"He's not unlike most 20-year-olds you probably know, and he's definitely not at all different than most of his fellow players," Brand wrote in a piece for Sports Illustrated's website. "... if camera phones were around when Brad Miller, Ron Artest and I were Jahlil's age, we might've been banned from the league altogether, never mind suspended for a few games."

The semifinalists list for this year's Pro Football Hall of Fame vote was revealed this week and there are some legendary names on the list of 25 -- Brett Favre, Terrell Owens, Morten Anderson, Alan Faneca. 

And if you're like Buzz -- a long-time collector but maybe someone whose focus isn't purely on football all the time -- one of those names may have left you saying, "Who?"

Jeff Gordon's final lap could end up being one of his biggest ones as he's one of the final four drivers in NASCAR's Chase for the Cup -- a winner-take-all playoff format that will make the final race of the season dictate the season's champion.

It's also the final race of Gordon's career, which already has four Cup wins and 93 race victories  in 24 seasons at that level -- marks that place him among NASCAR's elite no matter what happens today.
