A new series of baseball cards arrives soon in 2016 Topps Series 2 and that means a new crop of celebrity First Pitch insert cards.

There are 20 stars slated to appear in this one with late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, country star Tim McGraw throwing out a first pitch for his father's former team, and Hollywood star Lea Thompson among them.

The pen Relics are here.

We're hours away from the official arrival date of 2016 Topps Tier One baseball cards and all of the high-end inclusions that can be found inside boxes. It's an ensemble that Topps calls “refined, high-end trading cards that showcase some of the most sought-after on-card autograph content and rare Relic memorabilia cards from the most collectible baseball players of the game.”

Each box contains just three cards -- two autographs and a Relic -- unless it's a Hot Box with an extra hit.

He's got just one certified autograph -- but if you have it you may need another.

Kimbo Slice was a backyard brawler and YouTube enigma before he became a professional MMA fighter. He had a 5-2 record with Elite XC, UFC and Bellator but that limited time with UFC was enough to get him a single certified autograph card appearance.

The fighter, who died on Monday at age 42, signed a limited number of 2009 Topps UFC The Ultimate Fighter Season 10 cards. However, there's a twist here.

It started with the idea of doing a retro Buzz Break in search of an iconic Rookie Card from not that time ago since Ichiro Suzuki is a player on the verge of making history.

It became a reminder of something else -- that not all older wax is made alike.

A $25 retail box of 2001 Topps Series 2 -- less than $1 a pack -- seemed like a fun Saturday pastime. You know, something to do on a rainy day that might provide more than standard cardboard and the basic inserts guaranteed inside. After cracking the first pack, though, it was apparent that there wouldn't just be rain in June -- there also would be a snowstorm.

Los Angeles Dodgers rookie Corey Seager's hot streak started Friday night and continued again on Sunday with his weekend tally including five homers in three games.

Not bad for a guy who was waiting (and waiting) for the call a year ago.

But Seager's domination at the plate got Buzz wondering which way collectors are leaning on Seager ink. He's pretty much a given to appear in forthcoming brands this year -- so there are plenty more autos to come with an RC logo attached (including Tier One this week) -- but he's already got a rich autograph history. Even on Chrome.

Topps and New Era Cap are teaming up to bring exclusive baseball cards to fans -- and hat wearers -- as part of a promotion that spotlights the company's key players.

A nine-card 2016 Topps New Era baseball card set -- with autographs and autographed Relics randomly inserted -- will be available at LIDS stores beginning today.

It's been nearly 30 years since the arrival of Ebby Calvin "Nuke" LaLoosh and on Wednesday he gets his first baseball card in a fully licensed MLB release.

The set, of course, is 2016 Topps Archives and the star brought to life by Tim Robbins is just one of the Bull Durham cards to be found inside packs. In all, there will be nine certified autographs to chase and seven unsigned cards along with any parallels.

Is it a Rookie Card? Is it not a a Rookie Card?

It's got the logo and that's the only card that can say that so far for Julio Urias.

The highly touted Los Angeles Dodgers pitching prospect made his major league debut on Friday night in New York and things didn't go as planned as he gave up three runs on five hits and walked four in just 2 2/3 innings, a no-decision against against the defending NL champion Mets.

Despite this rough start, Urias was tabbed for a Topps Now card as part of the company's daily real-time baseball card program and, for now, it's also his rarest Rookie Card (it's got that logo and he's a rookie) with just 2,992 copies made. The quantity was revealed by Topps today.
