This one is a quick idea for a new department here on The Buzz ... Fast Five -- a quick list under a simple topic that might offer a basic starting point for a themed collection. It's a basic list of five items that could be fun for a starting collector or a new way to add to a stash that might already seemingly include everything when it comes to cardboard. For some of you, it's probably common sense. For others of you out there, it's something to think about.

This time? The big release of the week ... 2020 Topps Heritage

SUPER, MAN
The Card: 2020 Topps Heritage 1971 Topps Super Bo Bichette 
These oversized 1971 Topps Super cards are box-toppers that are not found in every box but I kind of wish they were. It's a simple 15-card set that's more postcard-size but uses all of that space and some tight crops to emphasize the photographs chosen for a mix of current stars. Just two rookies made the cut here -- Bo Bichette and Yordan Alvarez -- and I'm going with Bichette of the two this year. Meanwhile, there are a number of notables in this set on the checklist. I'm not the biggest fan of the facsimile auto that was part of the original design (Topps needs to thin out the pen strokes on any and all facsimiles used if you ask me while also scaling them down to be well-placed "accents") but the good news is that that those vanish for the players who have certified autos from this set. Those are far tougher pulls and were only made for five players. No Bo, though. (Bummer.)

The borders are back with 2020 Bowman -- and some of the biggest possible prospects are signing on, too, to make this upcoming release arguably one of the hottest pre-orders of the year already.

Yesterday's big, big behind-the-scenes reveal? New York Yankees prospect Jasson Dominguez, an international signee who will turn 17 next week and play his first season as a pro this summer, signed for 2020 Bowman with this image released by Topps. (Update: It has since confirmed it's absolutely 2020 Bowman.) He enters the minor-league ranks at No. 38 overall on Baseball America's annual Top 100 prospects list -- that's No. 1 among players in the Yankees' system. (The others are pitchers Clarke Schmidt and Deivi Garcia.)

The switch-hitting outfielder was called “a teenage Mike Trout” in this piece by MLB.com and he topped its Top 30 Prospects list there, too, after he signed a $5.1 million deal with the Yankees. (Read more on him here.)

The Card: Big Air Big Hair ... Card No. 298
The Price: Cheap but fun.
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This is a textbook example of how some of the basic inclusions in this one -- either team cards or checklists -- can have fun photos that help make the simple inclusions a little more interesting. This is something that some brands do often and with deliberate appeal -- think Stadium Club -- but flagship Topps has done this more in recent years and the results are getting a little better. One touch on this card that some might notice? The new (old) logo for the Brewers will be found in this series. It also doesn't hurt that one of the strong sophomores, Keston Hiura, is here, too. This won't be an expensive card at all -- it's just a nod to remember that fun stuff adds value in other ways and we might all remember that more often ... a good photo can make a good card, too.

This year's best MLB's rookies have been picked by Topps -- and they'll all be getting a little extra bling on their 2020 Topps baseball cards.

They're the Topps MLB All-Star Rookie Team, and we'll be getting new cards and ink via Topps Now before next year -- and some will have autographed cards.

It's been a few years since we last saw Bowman Sterling as a standalone product -- it had lived on as inserts in recent years -- but that trend ends on Wednesday with a new full-scale arrival.

And with a glance at the 2019 Bowman Sterling checklist it's apparent that the fans of rookies and prospects will have plenty to chew on in this autograph-per-pack release from Topps.

You get five packs per box in this one and it's also got a 100-card basic card assortment that is half prospects and half rookies with the bigs you would expect on the RC front -- Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Fernando Tatis Jr., Austin Riley, Pete Alonso, Keston Hiura, Eloy Jimenez and Nick Senzel are in there among others.

Have you seen the latest cool cards from a new release? With so many options for collectors of all kinds arriving every week it's possible you haven't. That's where Buzz comes in. This week's list is not for those who are deep prospectors, rather it's for those who might look to dabble with young MLB players without the wait for them to arrive. My list, which should be an obvious one for most collectors, simply spotlights six rookies who are playing well. Their biggest cards are already priced big -- but that doesn't mean you can't find some nice underpriced stuff and build some gains as they play well this season.

The new six: No product this time -- just six MLB rookies Buzz is watching.

SLIGHTLY OFF THE RADAR?
The Player: Keston Hiura, 2B, Milwaukee Brewers
The Stats: Hitting .307 with 13 HRs and 30 RBI in 52 games
Why he's Buzz-worthy: You won't necessarily see him atop the season's leaders for rookies since he's only played in 52 games this year, but he's already in The Show in just his third campaign as a pro. He hit .317 in 222 MiLB games and that might be the biggest key here in my mind -- he's not just a power guy unlike others you will see on this list. He did have 36 homers and 122 RBI in those MiLB games, too, but the production here just seems balanced and reliable with some pop. An example of that? In his first three at-bats on Wednesday night he had a homer, a double and another homer, upping his average to .309.
