The Freeze gets a baseball card in 2018 Topps Opening Day

Sure, Shohei Ohtani has a Rookie card in packs of 2018 Topps Opening Day baseball, but there may not be one that sells faster than one of the cards in the Team Traditions and Celebrations insert set.

It's the Rookie Card for The Freeze. 

Forget the sausage races and the presidential mascot races -- those are so retro. This card for the Atlanta Braves phenom will leave them all in the dust along with a few other cards in the set arriving next Wednesday.

Joining him will be the Clydesdales from St. Louis, the Mets' Home Run Apple, the Home Run Slide in Milwaukee, the Home Run Train in Houston, The King's Court in Seattle, McCovey Cove in San Fran and The Minnie and Paul Sign in Minneapolis. (We'll add images of all of them here when these cards arrive.)

But that's not all, the set also includes the Cincinnati Reds and their Opening Day parade, New York Yankees Old-timers Day, those racing presidents in Washington D.C., "Sweet Caroline" in Boston, "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" in Wrigley Field, the Rally Monkey in Anaheim and the YMCA Dance that's tied to the Yankees for this one.

Ohtani's first non-short-printed Rookie Card should also get some attention in this one as might a number of rookies also having cards here, but Opening Day is known for a lot of its non-traditional inclusions like baseball cards for team mascots. They're back once again with a 25-card set with the likes of Orbit and the Phillie Phanatic. Also in these packs? Autographs from Kris Bryant, Byron Buxton, Manny Machado, Carlos Correa, Amed Rosario, Mike Trout and Rafael Devers to name a few.

Also signing autographs for this one? Bernie Brewer, Billy The Marlin, Sluggerrr, TC Bear and Wally The Green Monster. There also will be Mascot Relics for all of them along with Clark and Fredbird.
