Ticket Stud or Ticket Dud? You decide ... here's Chapter 14

With these Ticket Stud or Ticket Dud stories I'm turning just a tiny bit of that energy just a few degrees away from cards (we'll still have plenty of them here) for a different kind of cardboard. What am I doing? Simple ... this is an occasional dip into some random ticket lots -- a show and tell showing something small with a story.

This time? A college rivalry ticket that feels more like a history lesson.

The Event: Tennessee Vols at Georgia Bulldogs -- Sept. 27, 2014
The Results: Bulldogs 35, Vols 32
The Attendance: 92,746 at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga.
The Face: $80
The Cost (for me): Literal pocket change as part of a lot.

The Ticket Studs (Key Players): Georgia RB Todd Gurley -- 28 carries for 208 yards and two TDs
Others: Georgia freshman RB Nick Chubb 11 carries for 32 yards and four catches for 30; and freshman Sony Michel three carries for 17 yards and one catch for 20 ... with a TD (fourth game of career for both)

What's Buzz-worthy: The history lesson on the ticket here about Georgia icon Vince Dooley carry the way visually on this oversized piece, but it was the team's young stars who make this one. I hadn't even thought about who was on this team until pulling it from the box and calling up the box score -- three NFL RBs who were first- and second-round picks. (Ironically, Chubb was the second-rounder and he's one of the best in the NFL today.) Gurley's yards were a career-high during his time with the Bulldogs.

Stud or Dud? Would this be an interesting piece for autographs? Maybe, but they don't match the visual here for the RBs. There are other tickets where all three were in the game but I'd probably go a different direction for their ink. Dooley? Might work. The game's names make it a Stud but unless you're a fan of the program and its history it's not that great.
