With these Ticket Stud or Ticket Dud stories I'm turning just a tiny bit of that energy just a few degrees away from cards (we'll still have plenty of them here) for a different kind of cardboard. What am I doing? Simple ... this is an occasional dip into some random ticket lots -- a show and tell showing something small with a story.
This time? Something icy from years ago -- and with a big game from a franchise's new star.
Keep reading to see the details this time ... and tell me if you think it's a Ticket Stud or a Ticket Dud.

What's Buzz-worthy: Gaborik's big game came in just the 12th event of his career with the Rangers after he put up franchise-record numbers with the Minnesota Wild for eight seasons, but it didn't get to play out as well as it might have as his game ended a little early due to injury. The goals tied him for tops in the league that point, giving the fans of MSG a show and that visual here is a simple reason I popped it out of my mystery box to see what was happening for this one. I've never been to an NHL game -- set foot in an arena lobby once, though -- so I've never gotten the bug more than ripping some packs in years where there were some big-name rookies. My bulk lot included a few tickets from this venue -- a legendary one beyond just hockey or even sports -- and this one was among the nicest with them all showcasing different images on an oversized but otherwise no-gimmicks printing approach.
Stud or Dud? I like this one and the big game would make for a nice autographed Gaborik item with plenty of space there, too. It's a simple ticket, but this one feels like a modest Stud to me.
