Ticket Stud or Ticket Dud? You decide ... here's Chapter 25

With these Ticket Stud or Ticket Dud stories I'm turning just a tiny bit of that energy just a few degrees away from cards (we'll still have plenty of them here) for a different kind of cardboard. What am I doing? Simple ... this is an occasional dip into some random ticket lots -- a show and tell showing something small with a story.

This time? A pair of spring baseball tickets that are odd and yet routine.

What's Buzz-worthy: It looks like I whiffed on having any pulls from the ol' ticket box last month -- must have been busy -- so here's one and a half with some spring ties to make up for it. Why the half? Well, the Tampa Yankees ticket isn't really a ticket at all as it's a comp pass for four free tickets to any game for the Yankees' MiLB team during spring training. Initially I thought that it was a Yankees ticket when I pulled it from the box but then I realized there's nothing to write about on it so I went with the colorful Lakeland Flying Tigers ticket for a spring game between the actual Yankees and the Tigers. The actual box score for the 13-year-old spring game didn't pop up on a quick search but the recap did and, well, there's not a lot of collector-friendly flash here but some names to drop who had highlights from a game that didn't ultimately go into the record books but helped determine how teams might look going forward. There really weren't even any big MLB players on the Tampa Yankees that year, either.

Stud or Dud? Visually, both are simple and clean ... one with trademark pinstripes and one with the colorful orange. I don't hate 'em but I also don't want to call 'em Studs, either.
