Ticket Stud or Ticket Dud? You decide ... here's Chapter 45

With these Ticket Stud or Ticket Dud stories I'm turning just a tiny bit of that energy just a few degrees away from cards (we'll still have plenty of them here) for a different kind of cardboard. What am I doing? Simple ... this is an occasional dip into some random ticket lots -- a show and tell showing something small with a story.

This time? A game from this week -- but back in the day -- in New York.

The Category: Major League Baseball
The Events: Oakland Athletics at New York Yankees -- April 21, 2016
The Results: Athletics 7, Yankees 3
The Attendance: 33,818 at Yankee Stadium in New York
The Price: $50
The Cost (for me): Pocket change as part of a bulk lot

The Ticket Studs (Key Players): A's OF Coco Crisp 2-for-3 with a home run
Others: Yankees -- OF Jacoby Ellsbury 3-for-5, SP Luis Severino 6 IP with 4 Ks A's -- SP Rich Hill 6 IP with 10 Ks, HRs from 1B Mark Canha, DH Khris Davis, 3B Chris Coghlan

What's Buzz-worthy: There are a lot of good names in the game here and one of note (back then) actually on the ticket, too, but ultimately nobody of hobby note had a big day. Carlos Beltran went hitless as did Mark Teixeira and Alex Rodriguez.

Stud or Dud? As Yankees tickets go, this one isn't that bad visually -- they've definitely designed worse-looking tickets in the Bronx in the past -- but it's pretty weak despite a couple of solid lineups. I thought this one perhaps had potential when I pulled it from the mystery box ... but I'll go with dud this time.
