Ticket Stud or Ticket Dud? You decide ... here's Chapter 48

With these Ticket Stud or Ticket Dud stories I'm turning just a tiny bit of that energy just a few degrees away from cards (we'll still have plenty of them here) for a different kind of cardboard. What am I doing? Simple ... this is an occasional dip into some random ticket lots -- a show and tell showing something small with a story.

This time? Some action on the diamond 14 years ago today.

What's Buzz-worthy: It didn't take long for a dig in my big box of tickets to yield something to pique my interest as this one came from a game that was just wrapped up now 14 years ago. The finish sounds like a fascinating one -- a HBP with the bases loaded in extra innings -- but many of the names here are ultimately not big days save for a Halladay no-decision and some homers. There are some good names here where this relatively dull-looking ticket might be enhanced with an autographs but there's really not that much going on here other than Utley's 186th career homer or Halladay getting to 1,896 Ks, though the next start was probably a little better plateau.

Stud or Dud? Visually this pair is a dud and the light cardboard stock here is even starting to yellow on the edges, though everything else here remains crisp and clean.
