Tom Brady's best Rookie Card parallel tops $400,000

If you weren't sure that Tom Brady is the greatest player in the NFL today, don't worry -- his Rookie Card will tell you.

The 2000 Playoff Contenders Championship Ticket autograph you see here is limited to just 100 copies -- this being card No. 41 of that fun -- and it sold for six-figures on eBay last night.

The card collected 118 bids on eBay and the auction ended at $400,100 -- what's believed to be a record for a football card sale.

Just seven copies of this parallel card have received a BGS 9 grade and it's the only parallel version of Brady's best RC. The most-common grade is an 8.5 with 26 copies there, while 25 have checked in at 8.0 and 12 have graded even lower than that.

"This sale was record-setting but also largely predicted," PWCC Marketplace CEO Brett Huigens told ESPN. "The trading card market is rapidly maturing among tangible asset investors and record prices are becoming increasingly frequent, especially among the market's most-desired issues."
