Topps readies 2018 National wrapper redemption promo cards (updated)

Topps has its promo cards for this year's National Sports Collectors Convention ready to go.

The show, set for Aug. 1-5 in Cleveland, will begin with its VIP Party presented by Topps with autograph guests including Calvin Murphy, Mike Hargrove and Luis Tiant. The VIP ticket-holder gift bags will include a previously revealed 1983 Topps promo set.

And now we have a teaser for the wrapper redemption plans for the show.

The wrapper redemption cards will carry the 2018 Bowman Chrome design with the NSCC show logo attached. Packs will be available for purchasing selected 2018 MLB products at the show and opening the boxes at the company's booth -- after they are purchased at authorized dealers who will affix a special sticker to the boxes. One box gets one four-card pack with a limit of six per person ~~per day~~. The redemption lines will open at noon each full day of the show and 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

Here's the checklist for the NSCC promo packs set.

Among the stars in the set? Shohei Ohtani, Ronald Acuna, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Francisco Lindor, Kris Bryant, Giancarlo Stanton and Mike Trout. Among the possible autographs? Derek Jeter, Jim Thome, Ken Griffey Jr., Manny Machado, Trout, Ohtani, Guerrero and many others.

Topps also will reveal the National Baseball Card Day checklist during the Friday of the show (3 p.m.) in advance of its arrival on Aug. 11. In addition to this the company will hold box breaks four times each day during the show's full days as well as pack wars. It also will have promotional items for its Bundesliga German soccer campaign.
