With 2020 Bowman awaiting release but in COVID-19 limbo sitting in its near-final stages down in Texas at closed printing facilities, Topps has looked another direction in an effort to get some new prospects' baseball cards into collectors hands sooner.

It's a First Edition 2020 Bowman that will be found in 10-card packs soon and was teased by the company on Wednesday.

This one will have a non-traditional release, too, with some of its packs sold on Topps.com and some via a few selected Topps dealers. The cards will preview the standard 2020 Bowman release but be found with a First Edition logo -- something that actually was done as a rarer hitless edition of basic Topps and Bowman sets a number of times in the early 2000s. No details on the inclusions were noted for this one ... but we'll have them when they arrive.

Update: The packs will go on sale from April 22-24 with them shipping early May -- $14.99 per 10-card pack -- with an limited amount for each day for each buyer on Topps.com. They will include 150 prospects with a First Edition stamp and there will be seven parallels per card -- Sky Blue (every other pack), Blue (/150), Yellow (/75), Gold (/50), Orange (/25), Red (/5) and 1/1 Platinum. There also will be a limited number of Chrome autograph cards also in the mix with a First Edition stamp on every card. There also will be a limited number of packs allocated to Topps MVP hobby shops.
