Toronto Raptors' Panini Instant set print run shows it's a hit

Board Man may be headed elsewhere, but the Toronto Raptors' NBA championship clearly was a slam dunk with some basketball collectors up north -- and probably elsewhere, too.

One way we know?

The print run on the Panini Instant team championship card set.

There were 49,286 copies of the set made and sold -- each card notes that volume on the back -- and every card in sets sold via the Instant platform arrives in a stickered top-loader.

Do the math and that's 1,478,580 top-loaders if they were all done that way. (Whoa ... that might be a record.)

The set includes a few NBA card debuts with coach Nick Nurse, Chris Boucher, Malcolm Miller, Eric Moreland and Fred VanFleet in there along with several cards featuring Kawhi Leonard, Kyle Lowry, Pascal Siakam, Serge Ibaka and Danny Green. There also are highlight moments beyond the cards of players holding the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy.

You can see the entire set in the gallery below as the sets have begun shipping. Panini also released a boxed version of this set ... so that top-loader record didn't actually happen.
