Two top MLB international signees already have baseball cards

You won't have to wait for baseball cards of two top international prospects who signed new pro contracts on Monday -- you just have to find a box of 2017 Elite Extra Edition.

Two of Baseball America's top five prospects from the Dominican Republic who are now pro players are among stars from the Dominican Prospect League that Panini America worked into that release with an eye toward the future -- and that future, at least for starters, is now.

The two players of note here are shortstops Marco Luciano and Noelvi Marte. Luciano is a signee of the San Francisco Giants, while Marte is a potential Seattle Mariner in the future.

Luciano, 16, ranked second on the Baseball America Top 50 International Prospects list and signed for $2.6 million. He appears on more than 30 cards in Elite and more than 20 of those are certified autographs. One of them is an un-numbered card, while the rest are limited to no more than 100 copies and 15 of those are limited to 25 or less.

Marte, also a 16-year-old, ranked fourth on the BA list and has fewer cards -- roughly 25 -- with just 15 of those being signed. He also has one un-numbered auto card and 11 cards that are 25 copies or less.

Over on eBay both players have a decent amount of cardboard available with Luciano's ink having higher asking prices in some instances, while Marte's prices are more modest (and potential bargains) if one wants to buy for the long-term and he pans out. Meanwhile boxes of 2017 Elite Extra Edition are still relatively available price-wise with a number of stars inside who are getting attention.
