Upper Deck readies promo card sets & more for The National

This year's National Sports Collectors Convention is still a ways away -- it's set for July 31-Aug. 4 in Chicago -- but that hasn't stopped Upper Deck from revealing promotional cards that will only initially be found at the event.

The company will produce a five-card VIP set along with a wrapper redemption program as part of its 30th anniversary celebration.

The VIP set this year will include cards of Tiger Woods, Wayne Gretzky, Serena Williams, Ben Simmons and DeAndre Ayton, while the company's wrapper redemption program will include Prominent Cuts packs for opening a box of its cards at its book. They'll include Top Shelf NHL Rookie cards and autographs, while case-breakers will get packs as well as "one random high-end prize or limited-edition trading card."

The company's Monumental blind boxes will be back -- just 125 boxes make with five signed Upper Deck Authenticated items per box -- at $1,000 plus tax. Among those will be themed boxes with all items signed by Ben Simmons, Serena Williams, Tiger Woods, LeBron James or Michael Jordan. Some boxes will include over-sized items too large to fit in the box that will be available at the show.

The company also plans to have its Diamond Club Reception on the Friday of the show with a guest appearance and prizes as well as daily raffles at its booth.

SUPER VIP PACKAGES/DIAMOND CLUB RECEPTION
With $5,000 in purchases via Blowout/The Fantastic Store, a Super VIP (age 21 or over) gets an invitation to Upper Deck’s exclusive Diamond Club reception and two entries in the Upper Deck case break promo. The Friday event will be held at a private off-National location with free food and drinks for attendees and an athlete appearance and prizes. Past guests have included Ben Simmons, Jeremy Roenick and Brett Hull.

PACK BREAKING DETAILS
For one 2019 Upper Deck National Black pack, fans need to bring the following to the company's booth:Five packs of 2019 Goodwin Champions, 2018-19 Upper Deck Series 2 NHL, 2018-19 Synergy, 2018-19 Ice, 2018-19 O-Pee-Chee Platinum or 2018-19 SP Authentic NHL.

To get four Black packs, collectors just need to purchase one pack of UDA Supreme Hardcourt or 2018-19 Ultimate Collection NHL.

STANLEY CUP CHAMP PROMOS
To get an NHL Stanley Cup Champions set, you need to purchase any five packs of any 2018-19 NHL product.

CASE-BREAKER PROMO
Open a sealed case purchased from a Certified Diamond Dealer at the show from the following -- 2018-19 Ice (20 boxes), 2018-19 Synergy (20 boxes), 2018-19 O-Pee-Chee Platinum (16 boxes), 2019 Goodwin Champions (16 boxes), 2018-19 Ultimate Collection NHL (16 boxes), or UDA Supreme Hardcourt (three boxes) and you can receive the following:

-- Eight 2019 Upper Deck National Black packs
-- One 2019 Upper Deck Goodwin Champions uncut sheet
-- One case-breaker raffle ticket good for a random piece of memorabilia, a premium hobby pack/box, premium card or Prominent Cuts VIP autograph. The items will be available at the show.
