Upper Deck readies promo card sets & more for The National

This year's National Sports Collectors Convention is just days away -- it's set for July 24-28 in Cleveland -- and Upper Deck has revealed its promotional plans for the event.

The company will produce a wrapper redemption set for starters with a meaty checklist that includes an array of subjects from its sports and autographs from some legends of the past, too.

For the wrapper redemption program, collectors will get a National pack when they buy a qualifying item from a Certified Diamond Dealer. Ten National Worthy cards and a selection of 10 Top Shelf NHL rookies will be in the mix along with autographs. Also on the checklist are five Parade of Stars cards as well as autographs and low-numbered chase versions. Some of the autos will include Connor Bedard, Ken Griffey Jr., Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Orr and Connor McDavid.

Joining them will be a five-card NSCC Prominent Cuts VIP Set that includes Jordan, Tiger Woods, Gretzky, Griffey Jr. and McDavid.

A box buy gets one pack, while a case buy gets 10 packs and one randomly selected autograph. The sealed products must be purchased from a certified dealer at the show and the lineup includes:

-- 2022-23 Ultimate Collection NHL
-- 2023-24 Trilogy NHL
-- 2023-24 Synergy NHL
-- 2023-24 UD Extended Series NHL
-- 2023 Metal Universe Champions
-- 2023-24 Black Diamond NHL
-- SP Game Used golf
-- Upper Deck golf

Each day there also will be a drawing for collectors, while the Monumental boxed-memorabilia release also will be back for this one (while they last) while a one-hour free autograph signing with Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Darius Garland is planned for the Saturday of the show. An exclusive Wayne Gretzky print also will be available for purchase during the show.
