Upper Deck's NSCC plans include promos, Monumental Box & more

With the clock ticking down to the National Sports Collectors Convention in Chicago later this month, the promo card plans and other details for the show are coming into focus.

Upper Deck's plans include wrapper redemptions, breaker promotions, Chicago Legends cards and more.

The Legends can be had one card at a time for opening five packs of any of its NHL product at the company's booth. That set includes Bobby Hull, Jonathan Toews, MJ, Patrick Kane and Stan Mikita. The company's main wrapper redemption program -- Prominent Cuts packs -- will be had for buying 10 2016-17 Upper Deck Series 2 or 2016-17 Fleer Show case packs as well as five 2016-17 Upper Deck ICE or SP Authentic packs. To get three packs, grab an Ultimate Collection or Premier pack from a Certified Diamond Dealer at the show. Purchases will include vouchers for the program, which can be participated in four times each day of the show.

Here's a rundown of the cards in that set

Case-breakers can open a case of Ultimate Collection or Premier at the company's booth to receive 10 wrapper redemption packs and a raffle ticket food for a memorabilia item, hobby box, premium card or VIP autograph.

Also in play well be a product called Monumental, and it's a blind box that includes five Upper Deck Authenticated pieces inside. There will be 100 boxes at $1,000 per available at the show with the mission of being "the ultimate sampler for authentic memorabilia and it is designed to give sports fans a great selection of UDA’s premium collectibles." Some boxes will include only pieces from a single notable Upper Deck spokesman. (You should know their names.)

“Monumental is designed to sports collectors the ultimate experience at sampling Upper Deck Authenticated memorabilia at a great price,” said Gabe Garcia, Upper Deck Authenticated senior brand manager. “Never before have collectors had the opportunity to score many of Upper Deck’s exclusive spokesmen in a blind-box format like this before at such a reasonable price. We have some surprises in store for fans with some of these boxes including instant redemptions for larger, oversized collectibles. We will provide more details on the product at our corporate booth at the National Sports Collectors Convention, but this is one you won’t want to miss and will want to budget for in your trip. Purchases of Monumental can also earn you a way into Upper Deck’s Friday night event.”

That, of course is the Diamond Club party.

Also in the works for the show are Upper Deck's Random Acts of Kindness Scavenger Hunt, raffles and other competitions that will put collectors' skills to the test.
