XFL return means new Topps Now football cards

The XFL's return became a reality this weekend with all eight teams taking the field and now we have new football cards to show for it.

That's thanks to Topps Now.

The 2020 Topps Now XFL set will be slightly different than other Now sets in that the cards will be available for a week -- not one day -- before they are printed to order.

The cards first drop via Topps.com and are printed to order, meaning if just 400 cards are ordered then just 400 cards are made. They start at $9.99 with volume discounts available there for singles or can be had via bundles that include one of each card for $44.99.

Seven cards make up this first wave of cards with five focusing on particular players and two for team performances. The XFL's teams this time around are the Dallas Renegades, Houston Roughnecks, Los Angeles Wildcats, Seattle Dragons, DC Defenders, New York Guardians, St. Louis Battlehawks and Tampa Bay Vipers.

Update: Week 1 cards sold between 287 and 524 copies.
