You don't have to spend big to chase Christian Yelich autos

A super-hot start for the reigning National League MVP doesn't mean you have to pay crazy cash to chase his autographs.

In fact, one of the most-affordable ways to chase this star's ink is in boxes of 2011 In The Game Heroes & Prospects Series 2.

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich smacked his fourth home run in as many games this season in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Cardinals  -- he's just the sixth player in MLB history to start a campaign with homers in his first four games. The others? Willie Mays (1971), Mark McGwire (1998), Nelson Cruz (2011), Chris Davis (2013) and Trevor Story (2016).

Yelich, who signed an autograph deal with Steiner Sports last year, doesn't have a ton of autographed cards despite having nearly a decade on inked cardboard. Since 2010, he's only appeared on about 600 different signed cards with the earliest being in 2010 Bowman Draft and 2010 Donruss Elite Extra Edition.

Those boxes aren't as easily found these days -- and there's no guarantee he'll  be in there if you do pony up for a box -- but the home of nearly all of his ink from the following year is in the ITG release and that one delivers nothing but hits. Yelich has 14 different autos to be found in that one, and the boxes include five hits every single time. A 48-box master case includes 240 hits.

Yelich has a vertical auto (announced /190), with a Gold (/10) version as well as horizontal version (/390) that is also paralleled (/10). He's also found on eight 1/1 Grand Slam Autographs cards as well as a Hard Cuts (/24) card that has a 1/1 parallel. He only has two other autographs that year from a somewhat obscure multi-sport release, 2011 Upper Deck World of Sports.

The 27-year-old hit .326 with 36 homers and 110 RBI last season when he took the Brewers deep into the postseason, and he's hitting .500 (6-for-12) with four homers and eight RBI so far this year. Tonight, they begin a series against Cincinnati and Yelich has 10 homers in 42 career games against the Reds ... so there's a decent chance his streak could continue.
