What's Buzz-worthy: This was Box No. 3,102/6,500 and while it was made for a movie that I found a bit forgettable it was a box that delivered big -- in both an auto I'd want and it having a card that's found just once per case as well as in some other inclusions that are, ironically, from the previous movie which I liked a lot. (I guess that makes this one an A+ for me as well as an A+ in general.) The hits here with a definite highlight with the auto Relic being one that was among the handful teased for one of the iconic stars who isn't among the core crew (or in Beyond). The dual card is cool in that it showcases one of the more memorable new characters for the new film and offers a somber reality check that some of the new cast are already no longer living. The metal cards are one per box and a nice touch, while the only other inserts in this box were the Quotables, which have a better look here than in past sets I have seen. The base set is larger than what was initially teased at 85 cards and you get plenty of the colorful and bleed-heavy cards (front and back) here, though there does seem like there could be more variety in a box for sure. There are a number of other possible inclusions in this one on the insert front, but I'm absolutely fine with what I found here instead of those other potential finds. I haven't done more than a handful of Trek boxes and this is my first from the recent wave of films but based on this it shouldn't be my last. And the best part? It was on sale -- check out that link up top.
