What's Buzz-worthy: The hobby's annual flagship release is one that gets plenty of attention and because of that it includes plenty of variety, surprises and potential for big cardboard. The First Pitch celebs are back and they are relatively plentiful in a box, while a new inclusion focuses on the talents at the MLB Network and they're found (surprisingly) just one per box. The celebs don't have ink, but the Network stars do and that's not the only way you might find ink here. There are autographs on the super-thick Relics (think Five Star) and World Series-winning Cubs inserts -- we didn't find that ink here but we did find a Cub. How thick are the Relics? You'll get just three cards in that pack when you pull one. One thing you probably won't find are a number of short-printed variations -- there are some in this release but they seem to be scaled back and aren't easy pulls -- and that's a plus. (Some may not like the hit they take on case breaks when it comes to re-sale but collectors may think less is more after several years of hunting.) The parallels seem to be downplayed here -- just three serial-numbered cards and four Rainbows -- which is probably in part due to the design being closer to full-bleed for the second consecutive year. Also a plus if you ask this collector. One interesting feature is adding the players' Twitter and Instagram handles onto their cards -- or a #toppsbaseball hashtag to add to the discussions if they don't have them. All in all, this one feels like a definite improvement on last season and it seems that the hits and inserts are a tad stronger, too. This particular box wasn't the flashiest in terms of who we pulled but it shows that there's plenty to see here. Check out the massive gallery below for even more.

I look forward to the Topps All-star Rookie cards every year. I also like the First Pitch inserts but wish it was a 30 card set(15 per series), 1 for each team!
Love flagship Topps!! Only set I strive to complete each year. The baby bombers and the Seagers are personal favorites. Looking forward to getting a box myself.
@EEFFL
Those five tool inserts are really nice but nothing beats those 1987 cards.
My favorite insert set has to be the 5 tool player insert! Clean looking card, and think it'll look even better in chrome!

I seen Dansby start his pro career in Zebulon, NC with the Mudcats, so my favorite card would have to be the sp Dansby RC!!
My favorite card is the unretired number 7 card of Gary Sanchez!
My favorite card is the Cubs 'World Series Champs' card. While it may not be rare or flashy, when my 10 year old saw a pic he thought it was the coolest card ever. Great base card that will be the centerpiece of a real fan's collection. Thank you!

The 1987 style are by far my favorite this year
Love the 1987 inserts. Reminds me of the hundreds of packs that I bought in my senior year of HS, back in the days that you could find cards in convenience stores.
My favorite insert is the 1987 Topps cards. Those are looking quite sharp to me and I like the nostalgic feel. Also enjoy the First Pitch cards, but really only for a select few celebs.
I love the 1987 autos... it reminds me of when I started collecting!
Really dig those Five Tools cards! And finally a new Don Mattingly image used by Topps!
Favorite insert set is the first pitch set, thank you!

Day for 2017 topps series one it means the season is around the corner!
the '87 stuff is a nice walk through time, the new guys look great on there. not sure where the cards are but I saw a post of refractor 87 cards which looked awesome!
Loving the 87's was the first set my Dad and I put together as a kid. Great memories.
I dig the Topps 30th Anniversary '87 cards...
The 1987 insert set will worth chasing in this set. The autographs could provide quite a premium for set collectors.
Thank you for contest!
The 1987 Autos for sure!
Definitely the 1987 Topps Wood Parallel Autos
I like the 1987 set! Thanks for the contest and I can't wait to open Series 1!
Really liking those Five Tools cards
@Sam_Zozaya
Cubs ‘World Series Champs’ card, hands down. 108 years of waiting, tears and upset have been washed away in a sea of Harry carrey's budweiser! HOLY COW!
Love the tools cards. Gotta be well rounded. Look great.
I love the 1987 Topps insert set! Thanks for the chance!
@zeldafanatic15
LOVE the look. Normally not a Series 1 fan, may change that this year!
I love the throwback to the 1987 topps "wood" cards. 1987 was when I really got into card collecting, the 87 Topps Mark McGwire was the one card me and all my friends wanted back then! So glad #Topps is honoring that set!
Can't wait to break open a box for myself!
Bought some retail before hobby hit the stores. Already hooked. Like the design and the challenge of finishing a set.
thanks for doing this
Love the new design in the 87 Chrome are awesome.
I love the 1987 cards and all insert cards that feature Ken Griffey Jr !!!!! Thanks for the chance.

@Ryanwsawyer24
Beautiful product
1987 was a good year.
I like the MLB Network cards. Just wish they'd have gone heavier on the broadcasters and not so many former players.
Whoops. Twitter handle is @boxesofcards.
I would go with the 5-Tool subset. @doctor_flammond, gjlowe@yahoo.com
Can't wait for the MLB network cards! Awesome idea.
Yes!!!!
My favorite card would probably have to be the Dansby Swanson RC... Just a nice clean action picture - you can almost see the hustle this kid has! I have to say only 2 golds in a hobby box is a bit questionable to me though... Being a parallel rookie collector, the odds of pulling any #d ones seems a bit daunting... Probably even a longshot!
I'm a fan of autos, so that's my fave.
All the Mets are my favorite. Especially Thor Syndergard
Please, please,please, give me this reality!
Just in time for Vday! Hubby would love it!
I absolutely love when Topps Series 1 comes out every year, it kinda signals the beginning of the baseball season, the rebirth of my baseball passion! Im a huge fan of MLB Network (its the first thing i turn on in the morning and the last thing i watch before going to bed), so I am looking forward to collecting the entire set of MLB Network inserts.
Looks fun can't wait for my hobby to get here
I like the Father's Day insert cards. I think the jerseys looked really sharp from that day so I'm happy to see them again
@RTCF_Blog
Nolan Ryan
My favorite card would be a Will Clark, if they included any in this set.
Vary nice job Topps. Cards look great.
Looks like baseball season is officially here! Time to switch from Football to Baseball cards! What better way than a chance at winning a box of Topps!!!
2017 Topps Baseball looks awesome and I can't wait to get a box or !!
I love the World Series relics! Would be pumped to pull one of those beauties.
I like the rediscover Topps inserted cards

Throw back to Cal Ripken 87'....a classic! And the Machado 5 tool player, those cards are great looking!
@TVey24
87 Bo
Topps Series 1 is always exciting, just like the start of a new season. I can't wait to see the autos and relic cards, fin to break a few boxes in The cold month of February!
My favorite inserts are the 1987 ones. I especially love the vintage players. The foil stamp is a nice touch. I can't believe it's been 30 years since the original set! It's also nice to see Barry Bonds back in a Topps product. Fun stuff!
@batcavelv
My favorite card is David Ortiz at Dodger Stadium SP
Would really love to get a box of this .....its a staple product for any baseball fan
Love the 5 tool cards!!
My Target did not have them out yesterday - hopefully I can catch a pack or two today!!!
Awesome set. Thanks for the update.
Been well over 18 months since my last purchase. Needing some new cards
Favorite card has got to be the Bonds with the Retro '87 frame.
Like the first pitch cards
Judd Apatow movies are hilarious. That's my favorite card.

Go Cubs 2017
Those cards look awesome. I love the rediscover and retro designs. After seeing that I want to put my glove on and go play.
Great info, very helpful when opening my own. Those 87s are awesome!
I need to reboot my baseball collection! This will be a great start! These cards look amazing. I absolutely love the card designs on baseball cards over sny other sport. Grest job to TOPPS for being so good with the designs.
I had to keep looking over and over to see which one is my favorite. The throw back ones look awesome but its hard to beat those 5 tool cards. Those look sick!! Great job on the design Topps like for real!
i like the idea of the Father's day and mother's day insert set. @derekjweber1
I like the 5 tool set...Thanks!
Great product, I love all of the possible Cubs hits!!! Topps really is capitalizing on the Cubs recent success.
Dansby Swanson would be Sweet
I love the retro reprint rookies!!
I always did love the woodgrain topps cards, so the return of an insert set with the woodgrain is easily my favorite insert set
I busted 2 jumbo boxes last night. Still deciding whether not not to collect the 1987 30th insert set of 100.
Just beautiful cards all around!!!
I love the first pitch inserts. Loom forward to those every year
Always excited for the Topps main set.
I saw someone pull an amazing Kris Bryant auto. Then someone else pulled a /5 Mike Trout. I personally like looking for the sp variations!
The 1987 style are Awesome! That's when I started collecting so seeing that style brings back some childhood feeling again.
Always look forward to the topps design. Did not disappoint.

Pro great price , great product love the new design love the 87 style of the cards and autos, nice to see some on card autos
Every year when this product comes out it's like the beginning of baseball season for me spring training right around the corner, everyone on the threads and media gearing up for the season and the hobby
Cons, none
Thanks for the chance
@chefmsmith04 twitter
I have enjoyed the look of the 1987 chromium buybacks exclusive to the Silver Packs. Definitely will try to pick up some of my PC players in that set. Thanks for the shot at a free box!
Love that Baez patch. The angle on the opening gives a different spin. But the 1987 design has always been my favorite...
My favorite insert is the card1 from 96 topps mantle i got a carl ripken from2000 topps chome refractor

The gold cards are looking sharp too!
I like the Dansby Swanson rookie card.
Who wouldn't want to want to box?
Yes! I #collect.
Yes
Love this years topps series 1, thanks for the opportunity to win a box!!
I'm in love with the 87 inserts!
I love the 1987 and 5-Tool cards
Not sold on the backs, but the front design is growing on me. Should be easy to filter through at card stores looking for Twins!
Yes please
My favorite insert set is the first pitch cards, they are really cool and fun to collect. Thank you for this awesome giveaway!!!
The Cubs World Series cards.
@donplojr
Wanted to add one more thought. Like I said previous love the 1987 design, one thing I wanted to add was I think topps needs to change up the reprints they put in there insert sets. At least change the years of the reprint inserts I have so many of the Reggie Jackson and Clemente reprints from previous releases there kind of getting redundant, obviously great players just use a different year instead of the same year over and over.
Thanks for the chance.
@Ryanwsawyer24
Clearly the World Series champions Cubs cards are the greatest cards ever created by Topps. But in a distant second the first pitch cards catch my eye for some unknown reason.
I like the greatest memories reprints.
The 1987 cards are great.
As a die hard Cubs fan, I love the postseason Cubs auto-relics!! That Baez looks great!! Hoping I pull one!
@mattsaltzman
Mattsaltzman10@gmail.com
The Gene Hackman card is super sweet!
As a Cubs fan I have to admit those are some of my favorite cards. It's fun to see those moments!
The Chicago Cubs team card well worth the wait
I love the 1987 Topps design! I still have my '87 Dodgers team set. #GoDodgers
Love the 5 tool one. Looks like something I would have had on a poster growing up
@ap003008
I'm a fan of the different variations that you can pull.
Thanks for the giveaway!
@TerryJPatsFan12
The 87 Topps and the 5 tool inserts are by far the coolest. Hopefully Topps Chrome has the 87 inserts as well ?
Twitter:RKO6301221
I sure would & I thank thee for all...
Would love to win this!
My favorite card is the Tyler Austin Rookie!
Looking forward to the Dansby Swanson Rookie Card!
Loving the Harper Base! He's such a beast! Hitting one of his autos would be nice too lol Love the Clemente cards as he's a huge legend. The base rookies look sick too. I'd take one of the Bregman rookies off of your hand! Clean images, overall pretty solid! @strtracer522
I can't wait to get my hands on these cards to see them in person instead of virtually.
Sincerely,
JayBee Anama

The 1987 30th Anniversary Insert subset are nice cards.
I like the Posey Mothers Day myself. But then again I'm a huge SF Giants fan!!!

Thanks for the try. I like the 1987 style set the best. My favorite card (s) is anything Dansby Swanson!
I love the '87 Topps design they are doing this year. It is my favorite set of all time!
The 1987 cards are amazing for sure!
Happy to try
The Gold parallels are my favorite. Limited enough to be a moderate challenge, common enough to be doable.
Didn't think I'd like the 1987 throwbacks. But I do!!
#tedsmashcollect
My favorite part of 2017 Series One is the 1987 Throwback cards in this one
Without anything Tim Hudson in the set, I'll go with Matt Strahm's first card in a Royals uniform for my friend. He is from the same area and thrilled to see the kid make the set. Thanks!
I love the 1987 throwback design!
The 1987 throwback design cards are my favorite in the Series 1 set... beautiful!
The 1987 design inserts are beautiful , by far my favorite of Topps Series 1.
