What's Buzz-worthy: If you know Jackass, then you know what's in store here with the second zerocool release. If you don't? Well, then those two warning/advisory notes on the box's sleeve are for you. There are appearances from the legendary original names like Johnny Knoxville and Steve-O and there are newcomers and then there's plenty more beyond that. The basic set here is small -- just 50 cards -- but some of those are SPs (not variations) to make collecting even the basic set a challenge. The meat here? The stunts inserts -- 70 cards -- that also made up the majority of this hitless box. With more than 30 signers and each having parallels, there not being an autograph in every box is a tad concerning -- well, maybe not Pontiusaurus vs. snapping turtle concerning (there are cards for that) -- but that really only relates to the prices that might be paid here for winning bidders over on the current dutch auction. If these close high? Risky. If not? Not that big of a deal. As mentioned in the First Buzz preview yesterday (click here) there are only 10,000 boxes of this one made (and this is one of the 500 held back for promotion or zerocool use) so if you like to crunch numbers you can with the checklist and stats here. The shortcoming with this one -- no, not Wee-Man -- here is basically the stock and color choice used on the border in relation. The stock is pretty much standard chippy barely glossed cardboard -- not very premium -- and it seems very comparable to 2022 Topps Series 1 baseball cards. With minor handling cards show fingerprints from dry hands perhaps too easily. Moreover, there was a lot of edge chipping and corner spots here -- very important if you grade ... though I suspect content here will mean some cards won't be graded as cardboard nudity has often been nixed in the past. There also were back issues on the Chromed cards where the gloss-less paper showed roller issues. (There are spots in the designs ... not that. See gallery for examples on both issues.) The packaging, which they tricked up with parallel versions of the box (see yesterday's preview), is definitely premium with a Five Star/Immaculate kind of feel with a sturdy and impressive display piece but the interior stuff wasn't as bold. (I collect cards, not boxes. But that's me.) This particular box delivered pretty well, though. There were no SPs in this box but the parallels did deliver on some tougher odds to get it to an A-level grade this time without ink. The Gold cast card here? One in 1,429 packs. The Blue Stunt? One in 29. The Blue Behind The Lens? One in 67. Stunt Holo? One in 14 ... which is still not one per box. All in all, the small lineup is pretty simple with a Chrome parallel chaser -- a pretty standard lineup, actually -- but with the star power of autographs here there is big potential. That checklist has some solid names but I didn't get a taste of that in this box.
