Fanatics' continued growth in the sports memorabilia market has a new chapter.
The Jacksonville, Fla-based company has acquired the assets of Steiner Sports, according to a tweet via veteran sports business reporter Darren Rovell.
Steiner's deals include game-used memorabilia for the New York Yankees, Brooklyn Nets, New York Knocks, New York Rangers and Madison Square Garden.
Steiner also has autograph exclusives with Stephen Curry, Gary Sanchez, Aaron Rodgers, Clint Dempsey, Henrik Lundqvist, Christian Yelich, Odell Beckham Jr., Eli Manning, Patrick Ewing, Chris Paul, Kristaps Porzingis and Mark Messier to name a few.
Steiner began in 1987 with autographed memorabilia deals and expanded into team-related marketing and memorabilia deals with a number of teams beyond what it presently holds. Meanwhile, since 1995 Fanatics has quickly grown into a merchandising giant and industry leader. Its e-commerce push began in 2011 and more recently its technology and inventory fuels the online stores of NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL MLS, NASCAR and PGA as well as a number of college and team operations. That push began in just 2015. Before that time the company was valued at more than $3 billion and CNBC reported it being upwards of $4.5 billion last year.
