Curious about whether a rare card might still be sitting in packs or whether it was pulled in the past? A new membership website can help you find out.
It's The Ultimate Tracker -- the creation of Amichai Cardozo, a collector based in The Netherlands. It's been a hobby of his for some time after seeing others' notable finds.
"For me pulling a bat barrel or bat knob out of National Treasures was like hitting the mother lode," Cardozo said. "That is why a few years back I started to track these specific sets on the Blowout Cards Forums. That way people would know what main hits were not yet pulled. Earlier this year, I was thinking to myself, 'Why don’t I create a website where I can track multiple sets and post pictures of every card that was crossed off the checklist?' ... I really enjoy putting in effort by browsing eBay and searching all kinds of social media."
The site carries a monthly membership fee of $4.99 (sign-ups link here) and its initial focus is on six types of highly watched cards -- Superfractors, shields, bat barrels, bat knobs, cut signatures and Logoman cards.
"I take big pride in my website and try to update it at least once a week and more often if new products are released," Cardozo said. "The site might look a bit simple -- my technological skills unfortunately are pretty limited -- but, to me, it is the content that matters. It is pretty effective showing the various trackers and the pictures which can be found under the blog page."
The Twitter handle for this project is @tracking_cards where updates are noted.
